Part of the Seed Pod Collection, this large piece is made up of many individually-sculpted oversized ash seeds hung from nails. My intention with this collection was to bring the material (ash lumber in this case) back to it’s beginnings, taking on it’s seed pod’s form once again.

One of the things I find when I’m out exploring is that I can often get so mesmerized by the beauty in the details (like seed pods, or tree fungus, etc.) that it can sometimes take a moment to see the full view- which in Squamish, can often be a stunning mountain vista. The mountain range view, based loosely off the Tantalus Range, has been painted onto the tips of each seed to create a simple but textured piece that lends itself to a west coast contemporary feel.
